Yearbook: the good ol' one2

Throughout the course of the graphic design program, many opportunities arise which fuel camaraderie within each cohort; these opportunities present themselves as conferences, local field trips, design club events, and late nights doing homework in the computer lab. While we were serving leadership roles in the graphic design club, a fellow student and myself devised a yearbook that would encapsulate our memories of the individuals in our cohort.

Action figure catalogs were elected to be the guiding style inspiration for the yearbook. After photos were taken, they were painstakingly modified to make each student look like an action figure with poseable appendages. Each student’s aptitudes and unique personality traits are highlighted in each spread with call-outs and body text. A custom logotype was developed relying on the retro palettes and typography utilized in 1980’s action figure package design.
