I am Wyeth Watts. I am a graphic designer born and raised on the Western Slope of Colorado. Design has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. From a young age I was interested in clothing design and branding from the early 2000s that I always saw my older siblings wearing. Coming from a family that greatly respects art history, I value the evolution of design and its role in our lives. The topics that most interest me are printing, user experience, and web-design. I find that these topics have a uniting principle of connecting with the masses in an accessible way and the means of this connection have much room for improvement.
Each job that I have had has greatly impacted me and helped me grow in some way. The places that have left the greatest impression on me are the Creekside Cafe, Mesa County COVID Response Team, and First String Screenprinting.
As a high schooler working at a small family restaurant, I was able to experience many different aspects of the restaurant business. I served roles cooking food, making order forms, managing pop-up stands, and training new hires.
Working for Mesa County was the first time I had dealt directly with customer service and survey situations. Aong with my time as a case investigator, I served additional roles as a Spanish translator and an isolation and support coordinator for houseless patients with COVID-19. The work environment there showed me the value of working with enthusiastic people who care about their community.
